Stars

Published October 3, 2010

How I see it, these black stars represent the deadly cigaret smoke, hence the color.

This photo was taken in Klapperfeld, 125 year old building that served as an interrogation prison.  I’ve never been into a prison before, but entering this one immediately sends shivers down your spine. Its inhuman conditions make it really hard to imagine that it was actually in use until recently. After Nazi era the prison was occupied by plain criminals, but also by political activists – mainly AntiFA youth.

In 2009, the same AntiFA youth that was once imprisoned there squatted the building and organizes various cultural events and exhibitions related to the history of the prison.

Location: Frankfurt am Main, Germany.
